Put a gradiant (your color choice, i'd do light purple/black or light pink/dark purple) over the gengar and set it to overlay, erase some parts so it blends in more and doesn't look stuck. Other than that, nice background, the left bottom is a bit over saturated, I'd blur it more.

I was too lazy to make a darkish/purpleish/pinkish gradient. :3
But now the border of the render isn't opaque enough. D:

It's getting there, you fixed the sautration. Just put a 200pxl white brush to soft light (lower opacity if needed) above the text/ear of Gengar and that should finish it off. The boarder is clear enough to be good.
